Cameron (The Artist's Way) has written a book addressed to our times, offering advice on how to begin to fulfill one's dreams in times of recession or austerity. As much workbook as essay (thus potentially problematic for libraries), Cameron's book is filled with encouraging phrases, "checkins," lists to read, and lists to complete. Surprisingly spare of illustration—given Cameron's reputation as an artist—this book emphasizes her work as motivator and writer and urges us all to believe that a generous universe will eventually reward our disciplined efforts to live both within our means and closer to our goals.
VERDICT While this book is unlikely to find the wide international audience of her Artist's Way, it should appeal to many creative spirits seeking guidance.
